Here are the highlights of our lives:
Received a Bachelors degree in Pastoral Theology from Oklahoma Wesleyan University, Bartlesville , Oklahoma in 1966. Married Roberta Nagle of California.
- Ordained as a Wesleyan minister in Houston, Texas in 1968, that same year was relieved of duties for having received the Baptism of the Holy Spirit at a Full Gospel Businessmen’s Meeting in Corpus Christi, Texas .
- In Language School in Mexico became acquainted and involved with the Charismatic Catholics. Later we hosted three Full Gospel Business Men’s Fellowship airlifts to Mexico and Guatemala .
- Served the ‘church at large’ in Guatemala with 16mm films and cassette duplicating equipment until 1976.
- Sabbatical in Hill City, Kansas after the horrible Guatemalan Earthquake of 1976. Roberta was involved with Women’s Aglow in Kansas .
- Moved to San Antonio , working with a Cuban minister and led Hispanic youth camps, 1979-1982.
- For 5 years I proved to myself, that business can be a MINISTRY. We delivered Oroweat Products, owned the Pepperidge Farm franchise and represented their specialty breads, our providers were El Galindo Tortillas, and Lone Star Bakery, of San Antonio Texas . The specialty bread needs of restaurants in the Hill Country went from $1,800 weekly sales to over $10,000 a week. Besides my wife as a delivery person, 2 other people helped meet the delivery needs of whole grain breads in the Texas Hill Country.
- 1986 was a clarion call to get back to work in ministry in Mexico. John Wimber and the Vineyard group impacted my life’s view.
- In Mexico planted a church near the businessmen’s weekend lake view homes of Valle de Bravo.
- In 2000, took 15 ethnic rich youth from 6 tribes to travel to 56 municipal districts, coast to coast, border to border to ethnic rich areas. We practiced Paul’s method of WORKING WITH OUR HANDS. It became clear that business CAN be ministry, and sometimes is more effective than just dragging people to a church service to lift hands to receive Jesus.
- In 2003, hosted 11 businessmen with www.gbsf.org and Gary Shotton, made a paradigm shift in that God is not only interested in LARGE harvests, but also in strategic harvest. (Phillip was able to reach a HIGH government official of Ethiopia, leading all of his people to the Lord).
- In 2005 committed to a concept of helping businessmen reach businessmen.
- Celebrating 40 years of marriage vows that have been honored June, 2005: 5 children, 14 grand children, several dozen spiritual children and if we have impacted anyone in our path, it was more because of our example, than by our words.
