In This Issue: Business Visitation - Military Airplane Manufacturing Facility

The Republic of Georgia was a part of the USSR and the philosophy of the communist regime was to specialize in manufacturing.  Tibilis, Georgia was the place that many of the Russian Military airplanes were manufactured, but when the Russian empire was partially dissolved, this manufacturing plant went out of business.

There were only a few workers in this massive and mostly deserted facility.  As we walked through the production floor, we could not help but think that this would be a great place to make a James Bond Movie.   The current management of this plant wanted to meet with us in the hopes that we would have some connections in the US to provide them some work.  At the peak of production, this plant employed as many as 10,000 workers and the communist government had built apartment complexes to provide a self contained production faculty.   The big problem is that the equipment and skills of the workers are now behind the times as much as 25 years.

Below are pictures of the equipment inside the facility.  If you are familiar with the new Computer Numerically Controlled (CNC) equipment, you will see that this is older, manual equipment that does not have the capability of keeping the tolerances necessary for this century.   The ability to manufacture is important in any economy, so Georgia has a long way to go to be competitive.

Below is a picture of the only CNC machine in the plant.

The plan for 2007 is to have several teams go directly to Armenia and help Pastor Garik and his team.

Pray with us according to this scripture: Proverbs 19:7 "The Law of the Lord is perfect, converting the soul; the testimony of the Lord is sure, making the simple wise". God has a plan for every person on earth and it starts with salvation.  But then we are to grow up into a knowledge of Him and our calling in the Body of Christ.
